Continuing our deep dive into what it means to place God at the center of our lives, we’ll take a moment to focus on something mentioned in the last post —
As the center, God wants to be the starting point for all, the middle of everything, and the first place everything must return to.
For all purposes and intentions, it’s the “first place everything must return to” part for us.
When you read this, what does it mean to you? Meditate on it. What comes up for you?
For me, two things come to mind:
Keep inviting God in: after saying yes to a blessing or following the holy spirit, (re)present a posture of submission to God. Keep praising, praying, and seeking Him.
Return to the Well: (re)mind yourself who He is, what He has done, what He is doing, and what He promises to do — especially when moments test or tempt you.
This post reminds me why returning to God is so important. Because as soon as God gives you a promise, the enemy plots. But knowing he can’t stop what God has for us, he tries to attack the thing to get us to lay it down. He’ll attack your finances, your family, your friends, your partner, your health, your work life just so you give up your positioning, your faith, your hope, your favor.
He knows you move in purpose for more than just you. You being your best self, getting closer to God, and fulfilling your calling frees more souls from his matrix of traps. You are bigger than just you!
And he IS RUTHLESS. He’ll use anything to get you to believe his lies. Maybe you don’t think you deserve God’s best because you are too flawed, too damaged, or have made too many mistakes.. maybe you have never been there before, seen it before, or don’t know what you are doing. So he whispers discouraging narratives and uses them to have you question what God has already promised.
But God says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” And you can always trust that the name above all names, the Lord over the earth, death, depression, sickness, generational trauma, chains, and curses, the one who has never forsaken the righteous or ever lost, will keep His promise.
So return to him and allow Him to restore you in return.
PS. Please excuse any background noise. I’m in Cali visiting family and will be posting without my usual equipment. So we may get a guest appearance from my little (not so little anymore) brother or my dearest mother.
